Very Important Purpose
The Real Andy Pita
VIP 305 had the pleasure to spend an afternoon with Andy. This talented Actor, Comedian, Singer, and Motivational Speaker is not only a hunk, but he is so simple and down to earth that our reporters and winners of the “VIP-305 November Trivia”, Kate Aub y Briana Torres, felt very comfortable doing their first interview.
Between laughs, pictures, and Cuban croquettes the girls took control of the interview and here are their questions:
VIP: Did you have other aspirations when you were in high school?
ANDY: Well when I was in high school I wanted to play baseball, I got a scholarship but I didn’t take it because I felt like my passion wasn’t there. Definitely acting was in the picture, never thought I was going to become a Latin artist, rapper or anything like that. But after I graduated we uploaded “slow motion” on the internet, and it blew up so the career was kind of handed to me. Slow motion was hilarious, it was a career opener.
VIP: At of all the things, Why a comedian?
ANDY: Because honestly I like making people laugh, makes me laugh. So every time I say a joke and people tell me “Hey Andy you really made my day, I had a crappy day, all day I was depress and stressed out but you made me laugh. Now I feel better”. So honestly that’s why I choose to be a comedian.
VIP: When did you realize you had talent for comedy? ANDY: Since high school, I just to be the class clown, everyone loved me.
VIP: Who were your greatest motivators?
ANDY: Definitely Will Smith is a big time motivator, for what he has done through his entire career and what he preaches, he practices. Jim Carry too, the fact that before he started he used to live in a van with his parents. He grinding it out, he worked every single day to get where he was. That’s why I consider both of them my motivator and also my dad, Papi!!!
VIP: What comedians do you admire?
ANDY: Well Jim Carry; one of my favorite comedians. But I love Dane Cook and I like Pablo Francisco because they’re very physical, they act things out and that’s where I kind of get my inspiration.
VIP: What goals do you want to accomplish and have you achieved most of them?
ANDY: Well one of my goal was to perform at the triple A and that happened. I opened up for Willy Chirino. I will never forget that, that was the biggest stage of my life. My goal is to progress as an artist, I always thought “Hey I want to perform in a big stadium with 9,000 people” but I actually preformed in front of 35,000 people, that was pretty interesting. My goal is to be an inspiration and motivator. I feel like little by little is been happening, a lot of people has been telling me “hey Andy I look up to you, you’re a good example”. That’s my goal, so far I see it happening but I am still far, far for many goals.
VIP: Do you test your jokes before making the videos or do you prefer improvisation?
ANDY: I prefer improvising, I can’t practice my job. For example, I had a stand up opportunity and they said 15 minutes, so then I had topics that I thought about. But I’m like “Man I don’t know, it doesn’t come out the same practicing to myself”, so I said “I’m just going to do it!” So I got on stage, well the 15 minutes ended up being 30 minutes. Started making up new things, I get into the rush, I get in the zone.
VIP: Are you single?
ANDY: Yes I am single, very single. Unfortunately my business takes a lot of time, and girls want attention. But at this moment I’m just focused on my career and as much as I love women, I have to focus on my dreams. Eventually when the time is right, I’ll move on to the next stage, and have a partner to grow old with. Have little Pitas!
VIP: What do you do when you’re not working? What is your hobby?
ANDY: When I do have free time, I go to the beach. I love going to the beach, just chilling. Sometimes I go by myself, it might sound weird but when you get to my age, you will understand. Alone time is important. I love being with my friend too, nothing is better than chilling with the boys, playing Halo, getting crazy. I enjoy those things. Also family time, family time is very important.
VIP: You have lots of people that admire you and follow you in the social networks. What would you like to tell the young community?
ANDY: What I want to tell everyone is that Sky is the limit, never give up. Keep doing what you’re doing, don’t go by negativity, and always be positive. Hang around with positive people that will do well, not do bad. Don’t follow what the media always tells you, they want us to believe other things but they should go by what they want, what they feel, what they want to do. Be unique, original, creative, you know just be a good example, be a happy person. It’s all about being a happy person, HAPPY! HAPPY! HAHA!
